Andrew Paulson, BSN, MS, ANP-BC is an adult nurse practitioner who is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center specializing in orthopaedics and sports medicine. Andrew graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Boston University and went onto receive a second Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Catholic University in Washington, DC. He received his Masters of Science at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Paulson not only received instructional as well as didactic training from this top notch University with elite professors and state of the art simulation labs, but he trained under experienced physicians in a variety of healthcare settings.
Following his degree from the Catholic University of America, Andrew began a career as a registered nurse working in the emergency department at a busy urban hospital. During his practice, he treated a diverse population of people with many different types of medical problems, from fractures and other orthopaedic injuries to cardiac and traumatic injuries. Andrew’s vast exposure allowed him to gain expertise across many disciplines, bringing this multi-faceted knowledge to Plancher Orthopaedics.
Andrew brings a person-centered, multi-modal, holistic approach to the care of his patients. Compassion, patience, and dedication are some attributes that Andrew learned in his early career and is translated effectively to his patient practice today.
His elite academic background and diverse experience as a registered nurse make him well qualified to treat all types of orthopaedic injuries, from sprains and strains to broken bones and all other sports medicine affiliated injuries in-between. He is also well-versed in health promotion and disease prevention. Through a multi-faceted approach he assists all patients in returning to activities promoting a health and active lifestyle.
When Andrew is not working and treating patients at the practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young son at their home in Ridgefield, Conneticut. He enjoys staying active by keeping up with his ever exploratory son and continually expanding his landscaping and gardening skills in his growing yard. When time permits, he enjoys movies, trying new restaurants in Westchester county and Manhattan, and traveling.
