The Plancher Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Program is offering 2 ACGME Sports Medicine Fellowships for the 2023-2024 Fellowship Year in SF Match https://sfmatch.org/

The Plancher Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine ACGME Fellowship is a 12-month extensive clinical experience in sports medicine to include knee, shoulder and elbow ligament repair/reconstruction, traumatic sports injuries, as well as knee and shoulder arthritis. The fellows participate in a 9-month required rotation with a 3- month elective that may include exploration in hip arthroscopy, advanced cartilage and osteotomies and/or pediatric sports medicine. The high-volume operative (greater than 900 procedures) and non-operative experience focuses on care to all individuals from pediatric to the middle-aged athlete. Weekly scholarly activity is led by PhD, MPH and core faculty. The fellows perform advanced and complex surgical procedures that allow them to gain independence in a mentorship model towards graduation in 12 months. We pride ourselves to promote diversity, cultural sensitivity to develop a pipeline program that enhances diversity where uninsured patients in underserved areas will now have highly skilled and trained surgeons to be able to communicate and make personal connections with their own culture. The fellowship’s mission is to promote professional development in orthopedics for all women, races, religions and socioeconomic backgrounds to be leaders and role models for promoting equality and opportunity for all. Our fellows have successfully secured an equal number of private practice and academic positions to become leaders in the field of sports medicine and within their individual practices and hospital settings from the east coast to the west coast. Our fellows have had successful completion of ABOS certification and the sports medicine sub-specialty exam.
