Honored Professor at the 2022 Orthopaedic Summit.

Kevin D. Plancher, MD, MPH, celebrating David M. Dines, MD as Honored Professor at the 2022 Orthopaedic Summit.

Founded in 2014 by Kevin D. Plancher, MD, MPH, the Orthopaedic Summit: Evolving Techniques (OSET) celebrated a successful in-person event December 11 – 14, 2021 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Even with the looming spread of the Omicron COVID variant, the OSET team provided a safe meeting environment likely to be used as a model for other in-person conferences in the future. With over 1,400 professionals in attendance, attendees appreciated the protocols in place to ensure they could safely enjoy the in-person event.

Feedback from attendees include:

Dear Kevin,

I wanted to write and congratulate you on another incredible Summit. I was glad to be back in person this year and, in spite of the challenges these past 2 years, you’ve managed to go from strength to strength. Please extend my admiration and thanks to your entire team, as they did a splendid job under trying circumstances. In speaking to our residents, fellows, and faculty here at UCLA, I know that OSET is continually growing in stature and importance. I am proud to play a small part in that. Thank you once again for trusting me with my role and I hope that my participation lived up to the lofty standards that this conference has continued to set.

I wish you, your family, and your staff a wonderful and safe holiday season. Best of luck with the move to Boston! Thank you again for the invitation and congratulations on a job very well done!

With my warmest regards,

Dear Kevin,

As I leave Las Vegas, I am reflecting on how you have dedicated your heart to making OSET into such a fantastic program. It reminds me of how meetings “used to be,” with the speakers and audience fully engaged! I was also struck by your energy, creativity, and compassion.

I also want to thank Dennis McLoughlin for introducing us. All the great things he said about you and your meeting were correct. I hope that you will consider having me back, despite being a neurosurgeon. Safe travels home and congratulations to you, Stephanie, and the whole crew at OSET.

Good Morning Dr. Plancher,
I wanted to briefly let you know how much I enjoyed and learned at the Ortho Summit. The lecture you gave about how to make it in real-life I believe is something that every resident and fellow in the country should at least hear once! All the experience and expertise captured in that session was incredible and eye opening. I hope that next year these talks can be highlighted to senior residents, fellows, and new attending!

I also wanted to thank your team for always being nice, approachable, caring, supportive and understanding. They were all fantastic and were always happy to answer questions and provide assistance. You all are clearly an example of a high functioning and successful team!

Again, thank you for hosting an incredible meeting and hopefully I’ll be able to see you all in Boston in 2022!
