Kevin D. Plancher, MD, MPH, FAOA, FAAOS joined the University of Colorado School of Medicine – Orthopedics for Grand Rounds on December 7, 2022. Dr. Plancher presented, “Value-Based Care: A Call For Surgeon Innovation”. Participants learned how the terms “quality” and “value” are defined within value-based healthcare, alternatives and solutions for a new value-based health care and how this contributes to improved quality and value of patient care; along with evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of reference pricing.
Kevin D. Plancher, MD, MPH, FAOA, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and founder of Plancher Orthopaedics. Dr. Plancher is one of only thirty-six Orthopaedic Surgeons who hold American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certification in both Surgery of the Hand and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is a Clinical Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, at the Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University in New York.
