Kevin D. Plancher, MD, MPH Award Winning Manuscript Published

The Journal of Arthroplasty recently published Kevin D. Plancher’s, MD, MPH award winning manuscript, Patient Acceptable System State (PASS) in Medial and Lateral Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty: Does the Status of the ACL Impact Outcomes? online. The aim of this study was to determine if there was a difference in the percentage of patients who reach patient acceptable symptom state(PASS) when comparing ACL-deficient and ACL-intact knees following fixed-bearing medial and lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty(UKA).

Dr. Plancher was honored to accept the 2021 American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Surgical Techniques and Technologies Award at the AAHKS Annual Meeting in Dallas in November. The Program Committee judged Dr. Plancher’s manuscript based on the evaluation of scientific merit and clinical impact. This acceptance includes the publication of the finalized paper in the Proceedings Volume of the AAHKS Annual Meeting in The Journal of Arthroplasty.

The Proceedings Volume takes great strides to include, “the most current and relevant up-to-date content in the field of hip and knee replacement and alternative procedures, as well as to memorialize and archive one of the largest, if not the largest and best meeting on hip and knee arthroplasty in the world.”

Kevin D. Plancher, MD, MPH, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and founder of Plancher Orthopaedics.
