Kevin D. Plancher, MD, MPH is delighted to be included in the ISAKOS publication, The Failed Rotator Cuff, Felix H. Savoie III, Emilio Calvo, and Augustus D. Mazzocca Editors, 2021. The text combines multiple disciplines in assessing and managing failed rotator cuff repair, including diagnostics (lab and imaging), nutrition, soft tissue surgery, arthroplasty surgery and rehabilitation. It also features surgical chapters accompanied by a short, surgical “how to” video, adding value to both print and online versions of this book.
Dr. Plancher and his colleagues contributed the chapter Repair with Biologic Augment, pp. 109-118. This chapter explores the prevalence of rotator cuff retear, the patient that will benefit most from a revision, and the various biological augmentation options that may increase healing in the revision rotator cuff repair.
